Woman removies her ribs to look skinner

Is there any end to what women will do to try to enhance their (perceived) beauty?

I really don't think she removed her ribs... I forgot what show I saw her on, but she's actually wearing a really really tight corset. Doctors would never allow someone to remove their ribs as it provides protection for vital internal organs. If she really did, then that means she must have a looooooot of money. Yes, it is possible to remove the 4 vertebral ribs, but I don't know how much of a difference that would make?

Tightlacing is an old form of bodymodification. In those days it was an accepted fettish just as big operated breasts are today. But there is no evidence that they removed any ribs then. It is not necessary.
Ethel Granger from Peterborough, England reduced her waisline over a period of years. When she started she had 58cm, and slowly tightening her corset reduced it to 33 cm before passing away 1982. She is now in Guiness book of world records.

Forgot to mention that she did not die because of tightlacing. It can be don safely if you do it gradually, do your workout and eat properly. You dont want to eat fat or anything that causes gas.
